David Platt

Executive summary

David Platt is the managing partner for Grant Thornton’s Central region. He leads a team of Audit, Tax and Advisory professionals driving growth and delivering high-quality client service across geography and industries. With more than 32 years of experience, David’s specialties include strategic planning, corporate board governance, corporate profitability enhancements, and mergers and acquisition services as well as divestitures. He has extensive experience as an Audit partner servicing a multitude of industries, including manufacturing, wholesale/distribution and financial service.

David has held multiple leadership roles in the firm since joining Grant Thornton in 2011. Most recently, he was the managing partner of the East region. He has also served as the managing partner of the Northeast region and the managing partner for New England.

Before joining Grant Thornton, David had been the CEO of CCR LLP ― one of the largest non-national CPA/wealth management firms in the United States, with offices throughout New England, Florida and Canada. In 2011, CCR was acquired by Grant Thornton. Earlier in his career, he had many years of Big Four experience in New York City and Boston.

 
David has formally served on boards of various companies and is active in the New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts communities. He is the former vice chair of the Rhode Island Board of Accountancy.
