Elliot Findlay
Executive summary
Elliot Findlay is the National Managing Partner of Grant Thornton’s M&A practice and is a member of the firm’s Partnership Board. Based in Chicago, Elliot spends time advising Companies and business leaders on all aspects of the transaction lifecycle including growth and strategy initiatives. Elliot believes what makes him an effective leader and professional is remaining active with his clients and present in the market.
Elliot has more than 20 years of experience serving the business and accounting needs of mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. His depth of transaction related experience (both domestic and international) includes advising public and private companies on a range of transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, recapitalizations, capital raises, divestitures, and strategic advisory assignments.
Prior to taking on the role of National Managing Partner for the M&A practice, Elliot established and led a dedicated group within the Grant Thornton M&A practice that specializes in preparing middle market companies for external investment.
Prior to joining Grant Thornton US, Elliot worked for Grant Thornton UK in their Corporate Finance Department where he was involved in executing buy- and sell-side merger and acquisition transactions across a wide range of industries.
Education
- Elliot holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electronic Engineering and a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, Scotland.
- Elliot is a Chartered Accountant, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland. (Not practicing).
