Brandon Vaughn

Executive summary

Brandon is a partner in the Accounting Advisory Services practice (AAS) at Grant Thornton LLP (GT) where he has been practicing in public accounting for over fifteen years. During Brandon’s career he has performed audits and consulting services for both public and private companies and has also completed two rotations in GT’s national office where he has supported audit teams around the country.

Within the AAS practice, Brandon consults with clients on technical accounting matters from new accounting standard implementation, accounting policy updates and other accounting transactions that arise. Brandon works with clients that are starting the capital markets process with a need to build out and develop appropriate technical policies, financial statements and collaborate with their external auditors.

Brandon has served as an interim CAO for a large public non-bank mortgage servicer and originator where he managed an accounting team through public filings. Brandon is able to parlay his audit and national office experience with an accounting consulting focus to provide subject matter expertise to organizations to ensure they are successful when encountering technical accounting issues.

Community involvement

• Brandon is a member of the finance committee of Classroom Central, which is an organization that collects and distributes free school supplies.

Education

• Brandon graduated from Appalachian State University with a M.S. in Accounting with a concentration in Accounting Information Systems. Brandon also holds a B.S.B.A in Accounting and Finance & Banking from Appalachian State University.
• Brandon is a Certified Public Accountant in North Carolina. He is a member of the AICPA and the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants.
