Jim Tish

Executive summary

As the office managing partner of the Detroit office of Grant Thornton, Jim leads a team of professionals in providing audit, tax and consulting services to both public and privately owned clients. Having worked in the United States, Germany and France, Jim has more than twenty-five years of diverse industry, financial and advisory experience.

As a result, he has advised clients on a wide range of matters including due diligence engagements, acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings and recapitalizations. During his career, Jim has worked with clients in the automotive, technology and service industries. He has led numerous multinational engagement teams in delivering US GAAP audits for companies with global manufacturing footprints. In addition, Jim assists public companies in raising capital, fulfilling SEC requirements and complying with the Sarbanes-Oxley act. Jim regularly works with executive teams to improve financial processes and solve complex accounting matters. He also regularly interacts with Audit Committees to assist them with their governance role.
